Learn blockchain by building one (Basic code review)

Ajay Prakash
Co-founder @ Perlin
Class Format

A concise workshop designed to up-skill you within a hour and a half. There will group exercises, feedback sessions and case studies carefully curated for the experience.

We dive into how a basic blockchain works by reviewing some code written in JavaScript. The idea is not for you to be able to code your own blockchain (though if that's what you take away then that's fantastic). The goal is for you guys to be able to understand the underlying infrastructure and what a blockchain is from a technical perspective.

This is a workshop for those who have a reasonable understanding of technology - Students, Product Managers, Tech Marketers, Growth Hackers etc. please come along! Even if you've just written a couple of lines (and understand what variables, if statements and the basics are) this should be valuable for you.

*NOTE - if you are an experienced coder this may not be the most valuable session for you!

Key takeaways

1. Understand how a blockchain works (and how simple it really is)

2. Understand how consensus is achieved

3. Get the starting points to code your own chain (if you wished too)
